Dutch Elle May 2012 Issue

I have been holding my tongue for so long. =)
Last month I was featured in the May issue of Dutch Elle magazine. I didn’t want to spoil it for Elle readers, so I didn’t toot my own horn on my blog… Okay okay, I mentioned it on my facebook. =)

My Gold Wishbone Necklace, Initial Necklaces, as well as the Infinity Circle Necklace was featured on a small section of a page. Yes! I was super excited, and most of all my mom was so proud… which meant the world to me.

Summer! Oh, how I longed to camp with you! I am blessed to live in a state, California, where the most amazing camping spots are only about 2-4 hours away. My all time favorite, of course, is the Big Sur. Driving up on the beautiful Pacific Coast Highway with the windows rolled down, my hair flying everywhere as the fresh air takes it, and remembering all the good things from the past. I am content.

I was looking around, and found this cool camping service, called ShterCo.. ShelterCo provides fully furnished European style tents and amenities right on the camp site! I know many of us prefer the rustic and traditional camping, but I believe embracing something out of the tradition is incredibly brilliant… especially with this luxury shelter on your favorite camp site!

Wow! This is so unbelievably awesome. The artist’s name is Chan Hwee Chong who re-created the famous art pieces by drawing an ongoing spiral with pressure in the tip of a pen. So ingenious!

Sunday was a busy day. All day, I put together new pieces, took pictures, edit pictures, and upload them on my etsy store. My out of this world husband cooked and brought lunch and dinner to me in my studio while I was working. It’s his birthday weekend, and I am the one getting spoiled. I am so lucky… :)

Anyways all those beads and chains I have accumulated finally got some attention. My addiction of collecting beads and playing with them cannot be cured, I reckon. My desk drawers are filled with gemstones, pendants and charms, wires, chains, crystals, pearls, all kinds of beads, and different size and shape of findings. I really need to make use out of these babies, so someone else can appreciate them instead of staying in the container unnoticed.

I started to collect key charms recently. This is one of the keys I have. I really should blog about all the keys I have one of these days.

On my monthly supply shopping last weekend, I found this beautiful 14k gold filled ball chain. I totally love these little golden dotted chain which reminds me of the army tag necklaces… that silver ball chain around the neck. I added two hammered heats in rose gold and yellow gold vermeil (sterling silver base metal dipped in solid 18k gold) charms. Hand stamped in initials for that personal look. The result? The picture cannot do this necklace any justice. :)

A great representation of natural leaves. These leaf earrings look like the real leaves coated in sterling silver powder. I absolutely adore these pair as they are such detailed yet light weight. Whoever gets this pair is lucky. Next time I sell these earrings again, I will probably raise the price a little because of the silver market fluctuation.
